I just viewed the beautiful quilt sent to my friend Elsie in CO in memory of her son CW5 David Carter who was killed in Afghanistan in August. He was piloting the helicopter that was shot down and many of our children lost their lives. She is a beautiful mother of three sons, raised them alone, and still continues to bless God for His goodness. I pray the quilt will warm her body and soul with precious memories during these cold CO nights. Thank you, my heart is touched with your gift.--Pattie

What a beautiful thing to do! Making something with your own hands and passing it on to a family who gave more than we ever can. I wish more people would know about this. We all should pass something forward by making or doing something. This brave people who gave of their lives wernt looking for anything when they joined to protect all of us !! I will pass this site on to my quilting class.

I just wanted to thank you for this wonderful project. I received my quilt quite some time ago and love it. It means a lot to Gold Star Families to know that so many people care and appreciate our Fallen Heroes sacrifice. We appreciate all who have helped with any part of this project. God Bless America

The Quilters Path is a proud participant in the Home of The Brave Quilt Project. Monthly gatherings at the quilt shop are held to make blocks for the quilts. What a wonderful organization and ministry to the families of our Fallen Hero's. I encourage everyone to participate in this project in anyway they can.

We are going to make blocks for this wonderful project at our church, LifeSpring Church, on July 16, 2011. Our blocks will be going to families in Nebraska. This is an outreach for our community and we pray many will be involved. Bellevue is located right beside Offutt Air Force Base so we are a military community that feels very strongly about supporting our men and women in conflict.

the National website has been a superb resource for Ohio's Home of the Brave effort and has helped us to deliver quilts and reach families we would not have been able to. I have appreciated the efforts of Sandi Carstensen and Nick, who created and has maintained the databases for the state coordinators. God Bless You. and God Bless America's military personnel, and their families.

We received a quilt from you folks when our son Spc Aaron Aamot was KIA in Nov. 2009. I want to thank you for the love you sewed into those squares of fabric. They meant a lot to me! Our family does Civil War Reenacting so your quilts had a double meaning for us! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!

My family received a commemorative quilt in honor of my son, Cpl. William M. Amundson. Thank you for honoring our son and other fallen families with such a beautiful gift. It is truly a most beautiful quilt that is rich with history to share, and to be passed on for years to come.

I received a quilt for one of our Fallen Heroes, SSgt Chris Staats, who was killed in action in 2009, and I would like to thank you very much for what you do. It is very touching to see that a great tradition, once a dire neccessity, is continued today to honor our brave men and women. We are planning to present the quilt to SSgt Staats widow in the near future, and I am sure she will treasure it for ever and pass it along to her children. Thank You! We want to thank you for the beautiful quilt we received in remembrance of our son, U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Jeremy D. Vrooman. The story behind the quilt is so interesting! To think these date back to the Civil War. We enjoyed reading all the names and messages on our quilt. This is such a wonderful tribute to Jeremy. Thank you so much!

I am a member of a Quilters' Guild that has been a part of this project for a couple of years or so. Our state coordinator came to our meeting this month and shared with us what these quilts mean to the families of these fallen heroes. Some of our quilters have made several of these themselves because they really believe in this cause. It feels good to be a part of such an organization. Our prayers continue to be with the families of those who sacrificied all for our freedom.

I just want to commend you on your services to Our Heros and their families. My husband, God Bless Him, is currently deployed in HOA. As I sit at home, 7 months pregnant, I think (and Pray) how wonderful it'll be when he arrives home at the end of next month. But, how horrific it is for all those who's loved ones never make it back. This is a wonderful way to show your love and support for Our Troops. This is my husbands (Mark) third deployment, his second to HOA and I Pray his last. It's the unknown that makes it difficult...your mind (and movies) can play tricks on you. I Pray that all Our Heros make it back safely and that their families won't have to look forward to the gift of a beautiful quilt to remember them by....it's much nicer to have the Soldier or Airman to share more memories with. But thank you, thank you, thank you for all that you do everyday. It's a beautiful, generous gift. More Americans should be so kind and supportive. Thank you!

I work in the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home in Palmyra PA and I spoke to a quilter from your group who was working the gift shop this past tuesday. She told me about why these quilts are being made and it truly touched my heart. I haven't lost a soldier, but the pain i see in those who have, is unimaginable. I find this quilting so respectful and such a warm gift to those who lost a much loved hometown hero.

Sandi, Thank you for steping up and becoming the coordinator in the HOTB project. I feel that this is the least we can do to honor the families of the fallen brave. I have worked with the coordinators in IN, AZ, CA, SC, NC & Vermont. I would like to say that C Smith from NC is one of your outstanding coordinators. I am now working with TX & MI. The new web site is fantastic. Thanks again, A Dionne Gray
