![]() ![]() Throughout its history, the United States has remembered its military heroes in many ways, with plaques, parades, statues and memorials. The Home of the Brave Quilt Project was started to continue that proud tradition. We are a nationwide movement dedicated to honoring the fallen heroes of the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq by making and presenting homemade quilts to their families. We want to show our gratitude for their service and provide a measure of comfort to their families with our quilts. We've taken our inspiration from quilts made during the Civil War. Please click on the Introduction and History tabs to learn more about the project and its historical foundation. Quilters from across the country have united to make these quilts for our own heroes. You can click on the Fallen Heroes link to learn more about each of them. Thank you for your interest in visiting our site. I invite you to sign our Guest Book with your thoughts and comments.
With the support of on-line quilting friends, pillowcases led to Christmas stockings and to quilts, or cuddle-ups for newborn patriots. Please visit the OperationOperation Support website for more information on how you can adopt a unit to help us meet these special requests from the field. Thank you for helping us honor the memory of those we have lost and for sending a touch of home to those still serving. |
